Course Information

Who Should Attend?

This course is suitable for personnel involved in frontline guarding or related work. It aims to enhance their initiative and confidence and equip them with the necessary knowledge and skills so that they can deal with more complex, dynamic, and challenging guarding duties both individually and as part of a team.

Joining Criteria

Participants must:

  • Have completed QASRS basic security training; or
  • Possess not less than 1 year experience in security or related work.

Assessment

Assessment will take place at course-end via:
  • A multiple-choice examination; and
  • Practical scenario-based exercises.

Certification

Participants who meet the following criteria will be awarded a “Certificate of Completion”.

  • Attaining 100% attendance in in-person sessions; and
  • Completing all pre-course online self-study activities (including: (a) watching instructional videos; (b) reading student handouts; and (c) completing all chapter quizzes); and
    Achieving a passing score of 60% or higher on course assessments (including written examinations and scenario simulations).

Learning Outcome 

At the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Acquire a comprehensive and deep understanding of the latest practical knowledge and skills of guarding services; and 
  • Be able to complete assigned duties in accordance to established policies, procedures and guidelines in a legal and professional manner; and
  • Be able to effectively handle emergencies and major incidents, maintain close communications and coordinated actions with internal and external units involved in accordance to established emergency plans.
