Course Information

Who Should Attend?

This course is suitable for in-service security personnel who are interested in pursuing knowledge and skills for performing security control room operation.

Joining Criteria

Participants should:
  • Possess security guarding experience of not less than 1 year
  • Be educated to Secondary 5 or above

Assessment

Assessment will take place throughout the course via:
  • Scenario-based exercises
  • Assignments
  • A written examination in the form of multiple-choice questions

Award and Recognition

On successful completion, participants will:
  • Receive a “Certificate of Completion”
  • Holders of this Certificate are deemed to have achieved the knowledge and skills for performing security control room operation equivalent to QF Level 2.

Learning Outcome 

At the end of this course, participants will be able to:
  • Perform the roles and responsibilities of a security control room operator effectively
  • Operate the systems and devices proficiently
  • Make optimal use of the functions of systems and devices to support guarding work in the field
  •  Handle emergencies according to established policies, procedures, and guidelines

  • Operating procedures of systems and devices
  • Emergency procedures in the event of failure of systems and devices, telecommunication, etc.
  • Procedures in the event of alarm actuation
  • Performing tele-protection duties
  • Performing key control duties
  • Keeping records of security activities and incidents
  • Reporting and escalation of security incidents
  • Tracking reports of defects, faults and malfunctions of facilities, systems, devices, and equipment in the field
