Course Information

Who Should Attend?

This course is suitable for in-service security personnel who are interested in becoming a Qualified Security Trainer for Guarding Services. 

Pre-requisite

Participants should have successfully completed the Guarding Operation (Online) course of HKIOS (HKIOS-GS-GO-OL) and passed the course-end examination before attending this Train-the-Trainer course.

Joining Criteria

Participants should:
  • Possess not less than 6 years of experience in Security Services, of which not less than 3 years are in security supervision or above; or
  • Possess QF Level 3 qualification in security or related services or have achieved 1 or more QF Level 3 qualifications in relation to Security Services through RPL, and
  • Be educated to Secondary 3 or above

Assessment

Assessment will take place through the Course-end Integrated Assessment which includes:
  • Project Report – Preparation of Lesson Plan and Training Notes
  • Exercise of Assessment – Design of Examination Paper
  • Practical Assessment – Deliver a Training Session in Class

Graduation Criteria

Participants must:
  • Attain 80% attendance; and
  • Achieve 100% completion of all teaching and learning activities; and
  • Pass each part of the Course-end Integrated Assessment (60%)

Learning Outcome 

At the end of this course, participants will be able to:
  • Apply the knowledge about training security personnel to perform guarding services;
  • Train security personnel to perform guarding services;
  • Take system approach in managing training;
  • Keep training materials relevant, accurate and current;
  • Transfer knowledge and skills using various techniques of instruction;
  • Evaluate training outcome to meet the needs of the organization, the tasks and the trainees and continuously improve training.
